Ant Attack (2006)
Produced by: BBC Two

The biggest family on Earth is a sinister army of 20 million sisters. This is the bug-eat-bug world of the African driver ant, wildlife’s neighbours from hell.
In this extraordinary film, we see army ants and termites as they have never been seen before – not the tiny skittering, hard-to-follow shapes seen in most wildlife films, but formidable queens, soldiers and workers, each with its own character and weight.
Like a miniature version of Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, we join the troops on the ground. We accompany the scouts and reconnaissance forces as they test the enemy’s defenses, and cross rivers and ravines with bridges made of living ant bodies. We experience the tension of the march into battle and the raw terror of the attack.
