Digital lives

THERE WAS A TIME when I used to keep a real diary, a handwritten one scribbled on flying sheets of paper. I still have it around and, sometimes, browsing it manages to fill me with the most acute perception of change, for not even fifteen years have passed and it already appears to me so… old fashioned.

Immersed in our digital lives, we replaced letters with e-mails, phone calls with VoIP, and diaries with blogs; all these changes happened rather fast, but they mainly influenced the form, not the substance of communication. They’re still here, these little things and happenings in our lives that we want to make known to others and share with others… and how totally can we do it now!

This journal is about all these little things - and more. It is about constant change and evolution, as well as about something ultimately fallible: memory. I hope you’ll take pleasure in browsing it, and I remain open to any suggestions that may help improve this little personal web site.

Live long and prosper!
